Medway creates a unified working environment for broadcast ingest & transmission servers and post-production editing systems. Acting as a central hub to the facility, Medway transfers media and associated metadata at faster than real-time speeds over standard data networks, transcoding if required.

Medway Drag and Drop Interface

Medway uses an intuitive drag and drop interface that allows operators to move media between a range of broadcast servers and Avid editing systems. From any Medway client, clips can be browsed and selected from a server, and dragged into an Avid system ready for editing and finishing.

Transfer from Server to Server

The Medway GUI allows browsing, initiation and monitoring of transfers from 'Source Server' to 'Destination Server', providing a standard view of assets on multiple vendor platforms.

Playback from NLE to Server

The Medway GUI provides a simple method to send finished edited sequences directly to video servers via the small drain icon that is placed on the desktop. Using the mouse to pick up the chosen sequence and 'dropping it down the drain' Medway moves the media to the chosen server, with all processing being carried out as background tasks. This allows the editor to carrying on working without worrying about any complex export process.

EDL Imports

Medway will import a proxy sequence file (EDL), identify and locate the referenced media segments and transfer them to the NLE. A new sequence file is created allowing the original proxy edit to be represented on the timeline of the NLE. This process avoids the need for lengthy manual ingesting and linking of media files.

Medway is designed to be a scalable solution that can be expanded to meet your needs. With a modular architecture and flexible licensing system, the expanding business can easily be accommodated.
