 TECHNICOLOR NETWORK SERVICES,
JAPAN
 In March this year,
Technicolor Network Services, part of the Services division of Thomson,
provided us with a major order for Medway and consultancy services. Technicolor
Network Services will use Medway as the media highway component of a new
postproduction archive integration project now being implemented in its network
operations center in Tokyo.
Medway is a very powerful and much-needed media exchange
solution that supports the optimisation of our customers postproduction
workflows in tapeless environments, without the worry of transferring files
between different hardware platforms, said Akey Hirano, general manager
of the Technicolor Network Services facility in Tokyo.
Media files will be moved between Avid Unity, Front Porch DIVA
Archive Control, Thomson Grass Valley Profile video servers, and an OmniBus
Windows Media Proxy Shot Selector using Medways powerful exchange
capabilities.
Medway will take edit decision lists (EDLs) generated within OmniBus,
and move them into the Avid systems, while restoring the appropriate media from
archive. Finished sequences will be published to the Profile video server and
the OmniBus automation system for quality control and transmission.
