Create a complete project archive with ease
Archive whole Avid projects: all the bins, sequences and media files.
Optimising Use Of Primary Edit Storage
Move Storage Intensive Media Off Shared Storage
For facilities running to capacity on their high value primary edit storage - ARCHIVE PARKING is used to free up space by copying complete Avid projects to near-line, off-line or removable storage.
ARCHIVE PARKING gives you the tools to find out what is using up space on your Avid edit storage and park storage intensive projects elsewhere. This saves the need for significant capital expenditure in additional edit shared storage.
Move Projects between tiers of storage or different locations
Benefits gained by ARCHIVE PARKING's ability to make Avid projects portable include:
- Moving media from one facility to another
- Taking projects offsite to re-edit (adding flexibility to a production)
- Freeing up space on high value edit storage
- Archiving (Creating Disaster Recovery files for storing offsite - projects can later be restored to Avid)
ARCHIVE PARKING enables the user to archive and move entire projects from multiple local or shared workspaces to a new destination. The user can also create multiple archive destinations, for example another shared storage area or even a locally attached USB drive.
A detailed report is produced upon completion of an archive giving the user certain knowledge that the project will be in exactly the same state when restored.
Flexible Merge & Restore Options
- Bring a project back from deep storage or just from a weekend’s editing at home
- Restore a whole project, or just the bins that matter, to any other project
- Merge a new version of a project with the one currently on-line
ARCHIVE PARKING will list all of the archived Avid projects in each destination. Each archive provides information on when that archive was made and details the number of versions that are available along with user comments. The user can choose which version and where to restore the Avid project to, selecting how the original workspaces map onto currently available ones.
If a project has been previously archived, when restored, Project Parking will update the original archive and only move across any new media or changed project files.
Back Up & Recovery
ARCHIVE PARKING assists the protection of media assets by creating copies of complete Avid projects and then provides the ability to transfer these to any other storage offsite for safe keeping. A detailed report is produced upon completion of an archive giving the user certain knowledge that the project will be in exactly the same state when restored.
Avid Projects, or just the bins that matter, can at a later date be restored back from deep storage. If a project has been previously archived, when restored, ARCHIVE PARKING will update the original archive and only move across any new media or changed project files.
