Company launches Fotonflite™ secure transfer system for Avid Media Composer projects and media workspaces, plus demonstrates its latest project integration, backup and cloud developments

Marquis Broadcast will showcase its world-class disaster recovery and business continuity tools at IBC (stand 7.D39) this September, including the new Fotonflite™ secure transfer system. The company will also showcase its Interplay Metadata Export Tool (IMET) in Europe for the first time, which enables customers to take an Avid® Interplay® project and media metadata and export it, along with developments in its Project Parking, Medway and Edit Bridge solutions. In addition to the Marquis stand, visitors to IBC will be able to explore Marquis Broadcast’s products on the nearby IBM stand (7.B25), with Medway media integrations between Avid and IBM Cloud Object Storage and Fotonflite based project workflows within Marquis’s Avid-certified Workspace Tools suite.

Fotonflite enables a high performance, secure ‘on-the-fly’, point to point transfer of Avid Media Composer projects and media workspaces between source Avid ISIS / NEXIS and a broad range of target storage types, including Avid, generic and proprietary storage. It is unique in its ability to do this especially with Avid ISIS / NEXIS work-in-progress.

Marquis Broadcast’s disaster recovery tool at heart of in-house production facility

Jyske Bank prides itself on its innovative corporate culture – and rightly so. Back in October 2008, Jyske Bank was the first bank in the world to open an internet-based TV station – jyskebank.tv. Every day, this station brings financial news and in-depth economic programmes, along with informative and entertaining journalistic features from Denmark and abroad, all created using Avid systems. Jyske Bank decided to invest in Workspace Backup from Marquis Broadcast after a rather unfortunate RAID service error on their Avid ISIS a few months back, which meant they lost some of their media. This new Workspace Backup system is now being used to take daily backups of Avid work-in-progress, as part of Jyske Bank’s disaster recovery systems.

Middleware solution allows edit while ingest for fastest workflow from live feeds

Pan-African broadcaster, Kwesé, has taken delivery of a Marquis Broadcast Medway system, supplied by Zimele Broadcast, to streamline its sports production and facilitate fast-turnaround coverage of a recent major sporting event in Asia. The Medway middleware was retrofitted to an Avid® NEXIS®/ Interplay®, Oracle DIVA and Dell EMC Isilon infrastructure, to enable Kwesé’s team to edit while ingesting media for the fastest possible turnaround of incoming live feeds. Importantly, Medway enabled this critical functionality without needing to replace any existing systems.
