Storage management tool provides S3 server-side encryption support and data usage information
Marquis Broadcast’s Avid Platform Certified Project Parking tool is the industry gold-standard for Avid storage management and project portability, providing project analytics, visualisation, management and archiving. It has been updated with a new dashboard feature, enabling usage tracking for Marquis Workspace Tools and Project Parking systems, which is especially useful for multi-site companies, helping to monitor their data usage. Project Parking has also enabled server-side encryption for AWS S3 and provided support for retrieval from Amazon Glacier cloud storage.

Valuable Interplay metadata can be saved and searched
Marquis Broadcast is launching its new Interplay Metadata Export Tool at NAB 2018, which will enable customers to take an Avid® Interplay® project and export all metadata for all assets in the project – essential when archiving projects from an Interplay system. Avid Interplay PAM has become a mainstay of many production workflows, relied upon daily by large and small production facilities around the world to find, track, archive and deliver projects. The Interplay Metadata Export Tool (IMET) copies and externalises Interplay metadata, making it searchable via a browser interface by operational staff. Importantly, the source externalised metadata record in Interplay can be safely deleted, thus reducing the size of the Interplay database and thereby improving the system’s performance, stability and indexing speed.

What if …… my Post House went ‘off line’ one day?
With the scale of shared storage and number of concurrent editing clients increasing so dramatically over recent years, the amount of ‘work in progress’ and the value of the ‘in production’ assets in the post production facility can often run into millions of pounds. It represents a significant ‘concentration of risk’. Ever shortening and demanding delivery schedules has meant the risk to a major post production business from IT failures or environmental hazards such as fire or flood, or even human error, has become intensified to an almost un-insurable risk. For top post companies, simply backing up data or implementing a disaster recovery scheme has become too crude, too slow and too late, as it may take several days to restore work in progress. The advent of 4K workflows has made the problem even larger.
