A lost tourist approached a villager in a rural area and enquired how to get to a famous landmark in another district. The villager responded: ‘Oh you can’t get there from here’. On the surface this statement makes no sense, but maybe in the villager’s context it does. Many existing broadcasters and media companies have an analogous problem with the potential journey to cloud; it isn’t easy, trivial or straight forward considering where they are today.
Marquis Broadcast, developer of advanced workflow productivity tools for the broadcast and media industry, has announced it will show its Medway Engine Web Service (MEWS) transfer engine which has been migrated into AWS for the first time at NAB 2017 on booth SL9030. MEWS now enables seamless hybrid ground and cloud workflows, while also supporting asset integration into cloud storage with PFR and EDL relinking.
Marquis Broadcast, experts in content workflows and media integration software, specialise in moving media and metadata. Following successful preview at IBC 2016, the Company has announced the launch of S3 Cloud Storage support in Medway and Partial File Retrieve (PFR). Marquis’ Medway media centric middleware solution now supports S3 storage as a source or destination of media production workflows. PFR hosts media indexes in the cloud, so given permissions, multiple applications can now access cloud-hosted content to single frame accuracy, significantly reducing network demands, S3 bandwidth and S3 retrieval charges.
